The SF-65 Corsair-III was a breakthrough in Spacefighter technology during it's time. Before the invention of materials that could fully withstand the heat produced by fusion engines, long electromagnectic prongs had to be used to vector thrusters. By the time of the Sol War, the Corsair III had already been superseded by the newer Multirole Hammerhead and Reaper Fighters. Nevertheless, the high production rating of these spacefighters meant that many of them saw action in the war, being the staple of most carrier and starbases. Late in the war, the C-model was introduced, with a better Gauss Gun as well as systems, and is able to take on nearly any situation. Production of this fighter continues to this day for it's reliability and low cost. It is primarily used as a scout, strike fighter and defense interceptor, along with it's bigger counterparts.
