UNSC CL and DD by fongsaunder UNSC CL and DD by fongsaunder
UNSC Apollo-class Light Cruiser.

After the fall of the REACH shipyards, the UNSC Fleet was running low on ships. As a last resort, a fleet of 23 mothballed Apollo-class Light Cruisers were pressed into service to defend Earth and the Inner Colonies for the following months. Refitted for active duty similar to the older Halcyon-class Cruisers, the Apollo recieved additional battleplate to her poorly-defended bow. Her MACs have been upgraded with energy capture technology, allowing them to fire two rounds in quick sucession, similar to the new system aboard the refitted Halcyon, the Pillar of Autuumn. A secondary fusion reactor was added with advanced cooling systems to supplement the aging original reactor. Archer pods and Longsword fighters have also been added as secondary armament. The Apollos supplemented the home fleet's Marathons during the first and second battle of Earth.

UNSC Ranger-class Destroyer
Developed from the UNSC Frigate, the Ranger class boasted what most other UNSC Destroyer had, except for nearly three-quarters the cost. Due to a modular design, sharing many similar parts to the destroyers and frigates already in service, the Ranger-class was an engineer's dream. Boasting a destroyer-calibre MAC guns as well as oversized Archer pods, the ship could easily hold it's own in an engagement. Ranger-class ships were quickly rerouted to defend the Inner Colonies following the fall of the Reach Military Installation.

You keep mentioning this all encompassing Sol War. Is there a uniform story behind it? Or are you just making this all up as you go along?

Ahaha, a bit here and there. I have a basic outline of the Sol War for my universe, with important battles and events. Some itty-bitty details I make up as I go along, especially when doing them descriptions.

That, and these two ships belong to the Halo Universe, not mine. =D

Im too lazy. You can try to make me.

It started with the Concordia, which was actually something I was drawing for my "Silent Echoes" Universe, but my bro told me it looked like the Pillar of Autuumn, so I made it a UNSC ship, with a smaller scale, of course (UNSC ships are HUGE). So, the scale stuck and I did the rest with the same scale 1 pix=more or less 5 meters.

The Holidays are over. Looks like there wont be much shipbuilding till December....

*fades away*

I would say the Cruiser could carry about 3/4 the standard complement of a Marathon-class. Give or take.

Destroyers dont have strike craft, but it should have the troop capacity of, say, half a frigate?

Destroyers are heavy boats.

Nice...I didn't know Halo had as much potential for ships as it apparently does. Everyone was too focused on the ground war. XD

Neither did I, but Im playing it over again in Heroic (Legendary is next). XD So in my non-Halo time, I came up with some crack vessels.
