UESF Shipwear by fongsaunder UESF Shipwear by fongsaunder
Heh. Bored.

Wanted to come up with some concepts for United Earth Space Forces Uniforms.

The work uniform was inspired by Sea Patrol, same goes to the armour and accesories in general.

For the Dress Uniform, I wanted an East Asian feel to it, so I gave it sort of a "robe" look. Don't ask why, I just felt like it.

Character Sheet to come.

I'm getting an interesting mixture of inspirations. I like it though, You got a star ship on the way or have I not been paying attention as well as I should have recentlhy and missed it?

I'll take that as I've missed the ship then, what was the name of the design?

I'm still unsure of the ship you are relating to.

Utilitarian. o: Do they have NASA-esque space-suits for EVAs, or are their spacesuits more future-esque?

I was thinking of a NASA suit with some "hard" parts for EVA, but the design is still sketchy at best.

Pilot suits are more flexible, I think the modern G-suit style would fit in nicely, with a superelastic under coat of some sort to apply pressure to the pilot's body when exposed to vaccuum to prevent them from asploding. =D

Ah. o:

NASA seems to be drifting in the direction of slimmer spacesuits.

Yeah, a G-suit would, but you have to take into account that there are more Gs generated in space combat simply because of all the extra possible maneuvers....so there might be some sort of inertial-dampening system working in tandem with the G-suits. o:

Indeed. The pilot suit would probably be useful in ejection/postejection sequences, where inertial dampeners cannot counteract the sudden acceleration of the ejector seat and whatnot, as well as doubling as a short-term EVA suit, for the pilot to survive long enough for a SAR bird to find.

Slimmer suits allow more flexibility and freedom of movement, allowing the user to operate complex controls of a spacecraft.
