Luna traverses through ponies' dreams. She gets to see the sweet ones, such as Spike getting his love or Rainbow Dash joining the wonderbolts, but she also gets to see the nightmares. I infer that Luna completely immerses herself in the dream she enters, so what you dream she sees firsthand. Luna knows the darkness of the heart all to well, and seeing other ponies enveloped in that same darkness probably "hurts" her in a way. This is probably why she helps dispel nightmares- not because she is the princess of the night, but because she has been there before and cannot bear the thought of another pony being like she was for 1000 years.
The sweet dreams are a great reprieve for that sorrow, but not quite enough.
this is just me though. Fantastic job on this by the way. You packed a lot of power in here. Congratulations!
I love the concept that you describe how Luna review the dreamland.
And of course, the picture is awesome and epic!
