Devoted to all you ppl who want to learn battlestar anatomy. Although Im using my Lightstar Atari model, but hey, Lightstars are just mini-battlestars, bear with me.

Especially to Athane, who wanted help on Battlestar Drawings.

The fractions on the top are little ratios to help determining the size of parts of the ship.

Note:This anatomy only works for later Battlestars like Pegasus. Galactica's anatomy is somewhat different.

a cool looking ship, though, Galactica doesn't use 'flak' they use bullets, shells, missiles and nukes. the anti-fighter weapons may use actual energy. but still ,good design.

Actually they do use flak batteries. Flak is a term for high-speed shrapnel fired by Galactica's main batteries.(Miniseries). Although they aren't refered that way, Im just too lazy to write the long-winded term. Flak is pretty much acceptable...

I've only heard them say, switch to salvo fire, but I do see the resemblence to flak, you have to wonder though, if they do use "flak", bullets and shells, how much do they carry that thye havn't run out yet, though it could be simple to make more because of the use of Mass Drivers................but whatever. The name is Kew, Kenetic Energy Weapon. still a good picture.

Yeah, but I wanna diffrentiate between the main guns, which fire flak/antibasestar rounds and the smaller AA quickfiging guns on Galactica's flight pods.

If you watched the making of Battlestar Galactica Miniseries, the guy mentioned "these guns fire shells which explode into fast moving shrapnel to shred apart enemy craft" or something, which in turn, well, means flak.

Anyway long things short, the batteries I label as "flak" just means the Galactica-Main-Guns type of Gun Battery

I understand that. just wanted to make the difference between flak and Galactica's salvo/flak cannons to which the pegasus had a third option where the shell break into 3-4 smaller peices known. You could have labeled them "main batteries"
